Verithia Terms

These Terms govern your use of the Verithia app, website, and verification service. By using Verithia, you agree to them. Verithia provides cryptographic proof and verification tools for documenting property, claims, and everyday records. It does not replace legal advice, insurance adjudication, law enforcement investigation, or professional inspection.

The Service

Verithia lets you capture photos with a signed proof record created at the moment of capture, share those photos normally by text, email, or upload, and later check whether a shared photo still matches its proof. Verithia is designed to flag meaningful edits and to remain checkable after ordinary compression or re-encoding, but it does not guarantee any particular result (see “What Verification Does and Does Not Prove” below).

Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement and to use the App Store in your region, and at least 13 years old. You are responsible for your account, your device, and the content you capture.

Pricing

Verithia’s capture, sealing, hidden robust watermarking, and verification features are currently provided at no charge, and the app contains no in-app purchases. If paid plans are introduced in the future, purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds will be handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store, subject to Apple’s terms.

Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • capture only lawful content that you have the right to record;
  • use Verithia honestly, and not attempt to forge, tamper with, or misrepresent a proof record;
  • preserve your own local evidence files when you may need them; and
  • share private verification links only with intended recipients.

Your Content and Proof Records

You keep ownership of your photos. To provide the service, you permit Verithia to process your photos transiently in order to seal and verify them, and to store the resulting proof records — capture metadata, location metadata, cryptographic hashes, receipts, and audit events. Proof records are immutable and may be retained to preserve verification integrity, including after account deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy.

What Verification Does and Does Not Prove

Verithia can show that an image is associated with a Verithia proof record and whether the image you supply still matches, or remains consistent with, that record. Please understand its limits:

  • Verithia’s hidden watermark and matching are designed to survive ordinary sharing, compression, and re-encoding, but not resizing or resampling. A resized or heavily transformed copy may fail to verify even though it came from a genuine Verithia capture.
  • A “verified” result speaks to the integrity of the image and its link to a proof record. It does not prove every fact about the real-world scene, who took the photo, their intent, or what happened before or after capture.
  • Location and time are recorded from the capturing device’s sensors at capture. Verithia records and protects them, but cannot independently guarantee the physical truth of every environment.
  • Verithia does not guarantee that a photo will verify, or that a “verified” result will be accepted as evidence or proof by any court, insurer, agency, or other party.

No Guarantees and Disclaimer of Warranties

Verithia is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or guarantees of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verithia and its operator disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. In particular, Verithia does not guarantee that:

  • any photo will verify, or continue to verify, in Verithia or in any other system;
  • a verification result will be accepted by any court, insurer, agency, or other party;
  • the app, website, or verification pages will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • proof records, watermarks, location, or timestamps are suitable or sufficient for any particular legal, evidentiary, insurance, or commercial purpose; or
  • the service will continue to be offered, or offered without change.

You use Verithia, and rely on any verification result, at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verithia and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or claims arising from your use of the service or your reliance on a verification result.

Termination

You may stop using Verithia at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or limit access for conduct that violates these Terms or threatens the integrity of the verification service. Immutable proof records and audit logs are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
